BRIDGE Housing Clarifies Statement by Russell Westbrook on Evermont Project in South Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Feb. 29, 2024) —BRIDGE Housing appreciates Russell Westbrook’s involvement in the new Evermont mixed-use project under development at Vermont and Manchester in South Los Angeles. To clarify comments posted online, Westbrook is not part of the housing portion of the development. He is working with the project’s retail partner, Primestor, to create the retail spaces that will be anchored by Target.

BRIDGE Housing is co-developing the 180 units of housing on the site with the Coalition for Responsible Community Development. The 180 units include 62 permanent supportive housing apartments for seniors who have experienced chronic homelessness, and 118 affordable homes for families with low incomes.

“The Evermont project at Vermont and Manchester is a game changer that will bring new housing, retail, and a school to a site that has been left vacant and blighted since the 1992 civil uprising,” said BRIDGE Housing President and CEO Ken Lombard. “BRIDGE is proud to be the co-lead on the housing portion of this transformative investment. We greatly appreciate the role of Russell Westbrook and Primestor in developing the retail component of the project. Many strong partners in the public and private sectors are coming together to bring this important project to life.”
