BRIDGE and EAH, a local nonprofit sponsor, codeveloped this complex on a foreclosed, partially completed downtown construction site. By purchasing the adjoining parcel with a grant from the Koret Foundation, BRIDGE was able to increase parking and add more apartments. The development features a three-story wood-frame building surrounding a landscaped garden deck designed over resident parking.
Centertown completed rehabilitation in summer 2023. Significant improvements include exterior building envelope (windows, roof and residing) and seismic upgrades, ADA upgrades, new community building on the first level courtyard, new seating/BBQ area on the second level courtyard, new entry access system, and energy efficient interior and exterior lighting.
Centertown Apartments is close to public transportation, banks, churches, parks, hospitals, restaurants, the post office, and police and fire departments. The addition of photovoltaic panels on the roof provides property electricity (external lighting), with the addition of solar hot-water heating.
