Eric R. Brown

Eric R. Brown is responsible for developing and executing BRIDGE’s communications, media and policy strategies. Over a 30-year career in public service and government affairs consulting, he has distinguished himself as a skilled executive, communicator and consensus-builder on affordable housing and other community issues, particularly in underserved minority communities in Los Angeles.

Mr. Brown joined BRIDGE in March 2024 after 14 years as Director, Intergovernmental and Community Relations at the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA), BRIDGE’s partner in projects that include the redevelopment of South L.A.’s historic Jordan Downs housing project. At HACLA, he managed relationships with local, state and national authorities, oversaw public safety at the Authority’s housing properties and served as spokesman.

Mr. Brown started his career in local L.A. politics, eventually rising to Deputy Mayor for Human Services under Mayor James Hahn. He also served as the Mayor’s liaison with the city’s African American community. After leaving City Hall in 2005, he founded The Brown Group, which provided strategic advisory services on government affairs. In 2008, Mr. Brown joined City Councilwoman Janice Hahn’s office as the Deputy Chief of Staff.

A native Angeleno, Mr. Brown holds a B.A. in Speech Communications and Political Science from California State University, Northridge. He serves on the Board of Forgiving For Living and the Charles Drew Child Development Corporation.
