DEVELOPMENT

BRIDGE develops high-quality sustainable housing for low- and moderate-income families, seniors, veterans, and those who have experienced homelessness.

Our development team leverages deep relationships with top-flight architects and contractors to deliver customized solutions, from permanent supportive homes to workforce and mixed-income housing, including mixed-use and transit-oriented developments that bring vital resources to neighborhoods.

Redevelopment & Revitalization

We are the partner of choice for many large, complex redevelopment projects that are revitalizing distressed public housing and long-neglected urban areas.

Case Study

Jordan Downs

Los Angeles, California

BRIDGE, alongside the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles and other partners, is helping to transform Jordan Downs, a historic public housing project in South L.A.’s Watts neighborhood, into a model mixed-income urban village. Our latest phase of the $1 billion redevelopment project entails building 119 apartments – 107 of them affordable – and landscaped open spaces as part of a reimagined 21-acre site with 1,400 units, parks, community facilities, restaurants, and retail. By building new homes before demolishing current units, we are not displacing current residents – many of whom have been hired as construction workers, among other jobs. As the largest urban revitalization project in L.A., Jordan Downs represents a model for the holistic transformation of public housing.

Estimated Completion: 2025

In my 40 years working in the housing industry, the Jordan Downs redevelopment effort has been one of the most complex projects to put together. This achievement is historic and was made possible through an unprecedented collaborative effort of HACLA staff, residents, community stakeholders, City leadership, and all those who understand that investment in Jordan Downs is more than about revitalizing public housing; it is an effort to help reshape Watts and bring new opportunities to help create a thriving community.”
