BRIDGE Housing Names Chris Nicholson Vice President of Resource Development

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 15, 2015—BRIDGE Housing has appointed Chris Nicholson as Vice President of Resource Development.

In this position, Mr. Nicholson will lead the organization’s strategy to raise funds to expand the programs that serve residents in BRIDGE communities. BRIDGE is a leading nonprofit developer, owner and manager of affordable housing in California, Oregon and Washington.

Mr. Nicholson comes to BRIDGE from the University of San Francisco, where he was most recently Director of Capital Campaign. His previous positions at USF included Associate Vice President of Development and Director of Planned Giving, and he was involved in growing the University’s total donations from $18 million to $25 million over a four-year period.

Earlier, Mr. Nicholson served as Director of Business Development for the San Francisco Foundation, where he co-chaired the foundation’s strategic planning philanthropic development task force and closed the largest current gift in the foundation’s history: $40 million. He spent 10 years in positions of increasing responsibility at the East Bay Community Foundation, ultimately as Vice President of Development responsible for philanthropic development, donor engagement, marketing and planned giving.

Mr. Nicholson holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
