Lake Elsinore Celebrates Grand Opening of Pottery Court

LAKE ELSINORE, CA, July 12, 2012---Lake Elsinore today will celebrate the grand opening of Pottery Court at 295 West Sumner Avenue.

The program begins at 1:15 pm, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and refreshments. This is the first development in Lake Elsinore by BRIDGE Housing, a leading affordable housing nonprofit.

Pottery Court provides 113 new affordable family rental apartments on 4.4 acres just two blocks from Lake Elsinore’s historic downtown Main Street. Constructed in elegant early California Mission style, Pottery Court’s eight wood-frame residential buildings feature tuck-under parking garages and green building techniques such as energy efficient appliances, cool roofs, low-e windows and drought-resistant landscaping. Previously, the site consisted of 23 parcels of vacant and underutilized land.

“We are delighted to bring much-needed affordable housing to hard-working families in Lake Elsinore,” said Cynthia A. Parker, President and CEO of BRIDGE Housing. “A majority of the apartments have been leased already, and we look forward to introducing our professional, on-site management team to new residents who are just moving in.”

The apartments are affordable to families with annual incomes of up to $33,500 for a household of four. Monthly rents range from approximately $309 to $677, depending on income and apartment size.

Financing for Pottery Court is provided by Redevelopment Agency of the City of Lake Elsinore, City of Lake Elsinore, County of Riverside, Wells Fargo Community Lending & Investment and the California Community Reinvestment Corp. The property was designed by KTGY Group, and Wermers Multi-Family Corporation was the general contractor.

Expected speakers for the grand opening include: Mayor Brian Tisdale, City of Lake Elsinore; Jeff Bennett, Wells Fargo Community Lending & Investment; community member Essie Inclan; and Cynthia Parker, BRIDGE Housing President and CEO.
