Chino Marks Grand Opening of Ivy at College Park

CHINO, CA, Oct. 7, 2014—The City of Chino today will celebrate the grand opening of Ivy at College Park at 11:30 am at 5950 Notre Dame Avenue.

This development is the first in San Bernardino County to be developed by BRIDGE Housing, a nationally recognized nonprofit developer, owner and manager of affordable housing.

Ivy at College Park is located on a 6.7-acre site within the 200-acre College Park master plan area, adjacent to the Chaffey College Chino Campus. The property offers 135 affordable family apartments in 10 residential buildings, along with amenities such as on-site laundry, a community room with a kitchen, a pool, a children’s play area, an outdoor fireplace and on-site professional management. The apartment community, which will be GreenPoint Rated, features a robust solar thermal hot water system.

Rents are set to be affordable to households earning $17,222 to $33,500 for a family of four (40-50% of Area Median Income). Monthly rents for the one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments range from $477 to $745 depending on unit size, family size and household income.

Financing for the $33 million project is being provided by Wells Fargo Bank, the City of Chino, the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee/California Debt Limit Allocation Committee and the California Department of Housing and Community Development. The architect is KTGY Group and the general contractor is Portrait Construction.

Among the expected speakers at the grand opening: Hon. Dennis Yates, Mayor of Chino; Kimberly McKay, BRIDGE Housing Corporation; John Kauh, Wells Fargo; and Mary Kaiser, California Community Reinvestment Corporation.
