Brightening the Holidays

Each year, BRIDGE employees volunteer to make personal contributions of time and funds to support a holiday gift drive for at least one of our properties. This year, more than two-thirds of our corporate staff pitched in to purchase, wrap and deliver presents to the children at Richmond City Center Apartments. The joy on the children's faces was incredibly rewarding--there is something magical about the promise of a wrapped gift and what it might hold inside.

After months of scenario planning, brainstorming, idea-floating and tough discussions, BRIDGE published its 2013-2017 Strategic Plan. The process to get to the finished product was highly participatory and iterative, and I am grateful to our Board and senior leadership for staying the course and producing an ambitious yet realistic plan—one which recognizes our strong core operating platform and calls upon BRIDGE to essentially double in size over a five-year period.

Yes on Prop C

San Francisco remains one of the least affordable housing markets in the country—a city where working families and seniors are routinely priced out. The crisis has been made worse by the economic downturn and steep budget cuts in housing funds at the state and federal level, including the elimination of redevelopment agencies.
