Yes on Prop C

POSTED BY: CYNTHIA A. PARKER | CATEGORY: FINANCE

San Francisco remains one of the least affordable housing markets in the country—a city where working families and seniors are routinely priced out. The crisis has been made worse by the economic downturn and steep budget cuts in housing funds at the state and federal level, including the elimination of redevelopment agencies.

On November 6, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to turn the corner on this crisis through the passage of Proposition C. Mayor Ed Lee, the Board of Supervisors and a unique coalition of housing advocates (including BRIDGE) worked together to place Proposition C on the ballot. The measure will create a long-term Housing Trust Fund for affordable housing development and first-time homebuyer programs, generating over $1.2 billion over 30 years without diverting any funding from existing programs or services.

Please contribute to the 2012 Housing Trust Fund campaign (www.propc2012.org), get out the vote and tell all your friends.  With your support, the Housing Trust Fund will help meet the housing needs of thousands more and keep families and working people living in San Francisco!
